JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities
• Keeps the gift shop and studio stocked with supplies as necessary, reporting to the head of department about any low stock levels in detail.
• Attends and provides friendly quality customer service to the guest in both the gift shop and the creative studio while building and maintaining a positive relationship with the guests.
• Helps the guests with their selections by making suggestions in a friendly and helpful way.
• Informs their head of department of any guest concerns or other issues that may affect the retail space.
• Keeps gift Shop and creative studio tidy, efficient, and clutter-free by keeping items pressed, folded, and/ or hung neatly, shelved neatly and orderly.
• Ensure proper set up of the gift shop and the creative studio as guided by the head of department.
• Ensures quality of stock item and adhering to set standards by handling all items with maximum care and preventing damage to existing stock items.
• Identifying new items to carry as well as what is not selling and suggesting ways to move stock items faster.
• Ensuring all stock items are well labeled and priced correctly.
• Completes all sales transactions and processes in accordance with established sales procedures.
• Learn and understand the stories behind the products in the creative studio and the gift shop.
• Follow up on community led projects i.e the beading ladies in the community by visiting their work space as well as communication with the ladies.
• Maintains an updated sales sheet for both the gift shop and the creative studio on a daily basis.
• Looks for opportunities for improvements as well as maintain a high energy level as well as being extremely well organized.
• Supports hosting team whenever required including responsibilities such as welcoming guests and escorting guests to the front of house areas.
• Hosting and inducting new staff members as well as creating awareness of the products in the gift shop and the creative studio.
