COMPLIANCE OFFICER, GRADE ORPP 6
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
This is the graduate entry and training level for officers in this cadre. An officer at this level will be responsible to a more senior Officer for the following duties and responsibilities:
(i) Implementing strategies and policies for compliance and regulation of political parties;
(ii) Implementing guidelines and procedures for tracking compliance by political parties to the law;
(iii) Publishing statutory documents and sources of funds of political parties;
(iv) Investigating offences under the Political Parties Act;
(v) Implementing and issuing guidelines to political parties on sanctions for noncompliance to the Law;
(vi) Liaising with other agencies to ensure adherence to the law by political parties;
(vii) Monitoring political party nominations and campaigns to ensure adherence to Political Parties Act; and other relevant laws;
(viii) Liaising with IEBC on adherence to the Election Campaign Finance Act and other relevant laws; and
(ix) Assisting in development of regulations for the better implementation of the Political Parties Act.
(b) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: the following qualifications:
(i) Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution and an advocate of the High Court; Public Administration, Political Science; Social Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
(ii) Proficiency in computer application skills.
(iii) Member of a professional body in good standing
