Communications Officer
Job Summary:
The Communication Officer will support KWETU communications in the development, production, distribution and monitoring of high-quality multi-media content in line with KWETU strategic goals and objectives.
Specific Responsibilities:
• 25th Anniversary Celebrations
• Support Board committee in planning, conducting and documenting of 25th KWETU Anniversary Celebrations.
• Lead in documentation of 25 success stories for the 25th Anniversary celebrations.
• Build 25th Anniversary social media platforms Narrative,
Strategy Implementation
• Develop and Plan communication strategy in line with the organization’s Vision and Mission
• Take Lead in implementation of the communications plan, providing support to staff, building capacity, and providing weekly updates.
• Support in development of infographics, video, and audio as/when need arises
• Develop and distribute content including publications, website content, annual reports, and speeches that communicate KWETU outcomes, products, and/or services.
Media and Social media engagement
• Oversee and regularly update the website and social media feeds
• Develop and Lead Social Media strategy/plan coordination and implementation
• Establish and maintain an effective relationship with media outlets and maintain a media database
• Tracking online mentions and engagements of KWETU
• Development of the organization’s annual reports and publications
• Records Management and Documentation
• Support in Development & Management of Knowledge management system
• Maintain records of all communications (products, social media, website, media coverage and collate analytics).
• Support program team in the documentation of best practices, success stories, and overall organizational annual digital success stories.
• Develop and submit quality and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
Qualification
• Education and Experience
• A Diploma in communication.
• A minimum 3 years relevant experience in NGO and corporate sector.
• Knowledge in designing/photoshop applications
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Social Media platforms and content management systems

Experience in Months: 36
Level of Education: Associate Degree
