The Job
Reporting to the Managing Director/Commercial Director - MEAC, the jobholder is expected to trade in tea by buying it either directly from producers or from the tea auction and selling it to international buyers.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and execute Business Plans for James Finlay Mombasa overseas customers
• Identify new market opportunities for existing and new innovation tea products
• Manage existing customers to solidify mutual expectations of performance and growth while developing new ones
• Drive "Request for quote" process with new prospects
• Identify and attend trade shows and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, to find potential new business, and to market company's end-to-end solutions.
• Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies .
•Work closely with MEAC teams to develop and deliver the James Finlay Mombasa "Must Win Battles" for new business in the customer development function.
• Update and implement pricing models for Value added Products
• Negotiating for contracts with clients
• Processing client orders by working with cross-functional departments
• Tasting and selecting teas for standards
• Preparing relevant Commercial reports
• Buying both from auction and directly
Minimum Requirements
• Hold a degree preferably in Business or Food Science from a reputable University
• Five years' experience in similar role
• Knowledge and understanding of the tea industry
• Excellent Marketing skills
• Expert in Microsoft office 365, Power Point and Excel
• Excellent tea tasting skills
• Good blend formulation skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Working knowledge of ITTS
• Basic Finance knowledge
• Shipping and related documentation knowledge
