JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing visionary leadership at AWAK and ensuring that day to day business operations of the association are run smoothly and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities of the Job:
• Implement the Strategic Plan by partnering with the Board to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Association's programs and activities.
• Growth of AWAK membership numbers by capturing the value proposition for members and regularly performing member analysis.
• Present the Association’s mission, vision, and short and long-term goals in a strong and positive image.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with Board directives and resolutions.
• Generation and implementation of all Association policies and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Board functionalities including and not limited to Secretary to the Board.
• Promote programs and services that are produced in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality.
• Oversee the fiscal activities of the Association including budgeting, reporting, and audit.
• Serve as chief spokesperson and advocate for AWAK under the guidance of the Chairman assuring proper representation of the Association to the stakeholder, community, and other constituencies.
• Build trust and relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as the point of contact for stakeholders.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:
Academic qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, Business Management or its equivalent with post-graduate training in a related field
• A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
Professional qualifications
• Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA-K)
• Must be a member of the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya in good standing
Knowledge required (Need to know)
• Computer skills including MS Office

Relevant Experience Required:
Experience required
At least ten to twelve years experience in a relevant position of which 3 years should have been in a management role. Experience in a highly matrixed organization and advocacy environment is highly desired.
