ISM Containers is the design, build and delivery arm of ISM Africa with a focus on modular homes and container based structures. Over the years we’ve converted hundreds of containers for a wide range of applications, including shops, homes, catering, office, retail, rental assets, and industrial structures at our manufacturing yard in Nairobi, Kenya.

Fit Out Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a fit-out manager, you are expected to manage projects for pre-fabricated structures, from start of contract to turnover.
  • You will be leading teams of fabricators and installers in several modular projects
  • Designing and planning spaces for construction
  • Overseeing fit-out projects from beginning to end
  • Managing budgets and estimating construction costs
  • Designing and specifying interior space components including cabinetry and furniture
  • Determining necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed for each project
  • Preparing reports regarding job status
  • Resolving any problems that may arise during construction
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Hiring contractors and staff including construction laborers
  • Delegating responsibilities to the right project personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Building and Construction or degree in architecture, civil engineering, interior design, industrial design
  • At least five (8) years of work experience in construction, wood fittings, interior design or refabricated structures
  • Possess business etiquette with strong work ethics, high level of honesty/integrity, results oriented and ability to deliver under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and project management software
  • Demonstrated high level organizational, team management and record keeping skills with ability to undertake frequent travel
  • Skilled in identifying local construction technologies and construction material sources

Level of Education: Associate Degree

Graphic Designer with Web Development Skill

The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work demonstrating their passion for outstanding design and typography. This candidate will have experience working with numerous design platforms such as digital and print forms. Your goal will be to create impactful designs that capture and promote our vision with the aim to delight and attract our clients. In this role, you should be highly creative, have a sharp eye for details, and have a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you’re passionate about design, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency of designs across various media outlets
  • Create compelling and effective logos, designs, print, and digital media
  • Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape and market trends Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements and pitch creative ideas
  • Use various techniques to create drafts, models and prototypes
  • Testing graphics across various media
  • Produce final design solutions (like logos, banners, interfaces)
  • Collaborate with team members to launch projects

Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio of creative illustrations or other graphics showcasing strong conceptual ability
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Adaptable with ability to work with speed and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Good copywriting skills in both English & Swahili
  • Time management and multitasking abilities
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-directed

Technical Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in Design, Computer Science, IT, Arts or a related field
  • Up to three years of experience as a Designer
  • Computer fluency in Mac and PC
  • Experience with design software/graphics editing tools and styles e.g., InVision, Photoshop, CorelDRA
  • InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Motion Graphics and Animation
  • Familiarity with design techniques e.g. prototyping
  • Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
  • Proven development experience in creative design, 3D animations and video production and editing
