JOB DETAILS:
Pursuant to Article 183 of the Constitution of Kenya (COK) and Sections 35 and 36 of County Government Act No. 17 of 2012. the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet wishes to recruit qualified and suitable persons to fill vacant positions of County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) as listed below.
1. CECM Sports, Youth Affairs. Culture. Children and Social Services
Duties And Responsibilities
I. Supervise the administration and delivery of services in the County and ail decentralized units and agencies within his/her mandate area
11. Implement County legislations to achieve desired objectives and outcomes
ill. Prepare proposed legislation for consideration by the County Assembly
iv. Perform any other functions conferred on the County by the Constitution or national legislation and carry out any function incidental to any of the assigned functions
v. Perform any other functions conferred on it by this Constitution or national legislation
vi. Provide the County Assembly with full and regular reports on matters relating to the County
vii. Advise the County Governor on matters within his/her area of mandate
Requirements For Appointment
i. Must be a Kenyan citizen
ii. Must be a holder of at least a first degree from a University recognized In Kenya
III. Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (COK)
iv. Has knowledge, experience, and a distinguished career of not less than five years, in a field relevant to the portfolio of the department to which the person is seeking to be considered for appointment
v. If successful, applicant shall not hold any other State or public office
vi. Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and devolution related legislations
vii. Have capacity to conceptualize current County potentials, opportunities, and challenges for strategic actions
viii. Have ability to lead, inspire and build synergy amongst team members for the achievement of the County Government’s vision, mission. Goals, objectives, and strategies
ix. Have capacity and suitable temperament to work under pressure to meet strict work timelines and requirements
