Business Development Manager
Vantage Africa School of Leadership is a premier institute of leadership and management focused on improving organizational productivity and efficiency by capacity building managers and staff across the African continent.
We seek to hire a well-experienced, self-driven and result-oriented Business Development Manager to grow our business portfolio in Professional Development Trainings and Consultancy Services, while ensuring memorable client experiences. The role is concerned with improving and growing the institute’s business, by establishing and developing strong relationships with clients.
Qualification And Knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales or relevant field.
• Professional certification in business, marketing or related field is a plus
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Thorough understanding of training and consultancy industry.
• Proven sales track record.
• Three (3) years working experience as a Business Development Manager in a training or consultancy institution.
• Ability to train will be a plus.
• Communication and negotiation skills
• Time management and planning skills
Key Duties And Responsibilities
• Provide leadership in the development and execution of the institute’s strategy on Business Development.
• Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
• Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them.
• Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
• Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet them.
• Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational and marketing changes.
• Overseeing new marketing initiatives.
• Develop and implement institute’s digital marketing campaigns.
• Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
• Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
• Developing goals for the business growth and ensuring they are met.
• Seek out the appropriate contact in an organization and cold call prospective customers
• Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
• Ensure staffs are on board throughout the organization, and understand the need for change and what is required of them.
• Train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate.
• Develop growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
• Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate.
• Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
• Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
• Perform any other functions connected therewith or incidental thereto
