Back End Developer

At Focus Mobile, we build tools for businesses to communicate with their customers. We are committed to helping the businesses that work with us grow by ensuring they are able to communicate reliably.
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our team. You will collaborate with us to plan, design, and build features for smsleopard.com. We are customer-focused so a passion to help our customers achieve their goals will be essential

Experience
We are looking for a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities
o Translate requirements to stable, secure, and performant APIs
o Consistently contribute bug-free code that includes tests to ensure its reliability
o Maintain and improve the existing code base for maintainability, performance, and security
o Instrument the front end application to provide vital analytics required to prove we are providing value to our customers
o Monitor the back end applications and provide fixes to any issues identified

Skills
o You are smart and love solving problems
o Have intermediate experience with Golang
o Have intermediate experience build Restful APIs
o Understand security principles and their application to web apps
o Have experience working with Postgres, MariaDB, and MySQL in a production environment
o Have experience working with RabbitMQ and Redis
o Have experience building and deploying containerized services with docker
o Have experience working with Jenkins to deploy applications
o Have experience with continuous integration/deployment with Git
o Have experience with TDD
o Have strong technical communication skills
o Have experience or interest in working on a demanding product that’s live with high dependency
o AWS experience is a plus
o Prior experience in building payments APIs is an added advantage
