JOB DETAILS:
Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support of an international office in Rome. Founded in November 1980 as a work of the Society of Jesus, JRS was officially registered on 19 March 2000 at the Vatican State as a foundation. JRS is also concerned with advocacy and human rights work. This involves ensuring that refugees are afforded their full rights while in exile and during repatriation as guaranteed by the 1951 Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and working to strengthen the protection afforded to internally displaced persons (IDPs). This is a position based in Kakuma Refugee Camp. The holder will be under the direct supervision of the JRS Safe haven Coordinator and takes responsibility for managing the operation of the JRS safe shelters. She will be actively involved in planning, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the Safe shelter activities and takes responsibility and attention to individual beneficiaries’ concerns.This is a position based in Kakuma. The Assistant safe haven programme coordinator is responsible for the administration and management of JRS Protection Houses in Kakuma, under the direction and supervision of the Safe Haven Coordinator/Project Director. .
Responsibilities:
• Assist in guiding the matrons, supervisor and other staff to maintain the JRS mission and vision
• Assist in provision of psychosocial follow up of Safe haven beneficiaries
• Assist in providing psychosocial support to clients referred by other agencies
• Be a strong focal person on SGBV and PSEA and represent JRS on various forums
• Assist in training all JRS Staff, refugee staff on SGBV and PSEA using the JRS SGBV manual in collaboration with other coordinators.
• Facilitate the capacity building activities for Safe haven clients in coordination with partner agencies
• Assist in peace building and conflict resolution session with safe haven clients
• Assist in facilitating Safe haven children and adults access education activities
• Prepare client profile regularly
• Support all activities at the Safe haven centres through photocopying forms, letter, re-revision of forms
• Assist in collaborating with Community counselling, mental health and education programs on including SGBV interventions in activities adequately.
• Participate in In-service trainings and other awareness activities in coordination with other partner agencies
• Assist in monitoring Safe Haven supplies and assets
• Assist in maintain appropriate documentation and reporting tools and regularly monitor the relevancy of Safe haven tools

Desired Qualifications and Professional Experience:
• Degree in Law, international law, Political Sciences or related field, Social Work
• Job experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with undergraduate degree or 4 – 5 years of diploma certificate.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
• Ability to positively influence others and successfully reconcile differences.
• Self-starter with a strong results orientation and with high levels of integrity, credibility and dependability.
