JOB DETAILS:
Duties and responsibilities in this position will entail:
1. Identifying research problem with stakeholders;
2. Prioritizing research problems for implementation;
3. Developing research concepts;
4. Identifying relevant literature material;
5. Collecting of data in the field;
6. Data Analysis;
7. Writing appropriate technical reports including research notes, technical notes, conference posters, dissemination flyers;
8. Organizing and implementing dissemination activities that include Open days, ASK shows;
9. Disseminating research findings in local fora that include seminar, workshops, congress;
10. Mentor students on attachment, interns and visitors including High School and Colleges;
11. Implementing relevant ISO standards in their departments;
12. Compiling departmental quarterly and annual reports;
Requirements for appointment/Persons Specification
1. Upper second-class Bachelor’s Honors degree or equivalent degree in any of the following fields: Aquatic or Fisheries Sciences, Biological or Physical Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Environmental studies, Geology, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Bio-statistics, Marine engineering, Biometrics, Biotechnology; or any other aquatic, fisheries and other relevant disciplines from a recognized University.
2. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C+ (Plus) or equivalent; and
3. Proficiency in computer applications; and
4. Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution

4. Good team player; and
5. Ability to work under pressure.
