Job Description/Requirements
Jamii Sacco is a Deposit Taking Sacco (DTS) registered under the Cooperative Societies Act Cap 490 (Amended 2004) of the laws of Kenya and licensed by SASRA.
The objectives for which the Society was established are to organize and promote the quality of life of the members by providing quality financial services.

VACANT POSITION DETAILS

The following position is vacant and the Sacco would like to fill:
Position: Assistant II – Credit Control
Grade J-B1
Department: Credit Control
Job Type: Contract – Three (3) Years renewable on performance
Location: Nairobi
REF. JSS/HR- A-II – CC/2021

JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible for coordinating the debts of existing creditors and ultimately managing all money borrowed or owed to the Society by handling the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries and issuing credit notes.

FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
The job holder is responsible for;
a) To collect and follow up debts
b) To identify the non-performing loans, extrapolate them, communicate to the affected members and make follow up.
c) To co-ordinate debt collection and guide the other staff on debt collection.
d) To write letters to guarantors and make follow up.
e) To advise on credit policy according to the market trends.
f) To maintain the trend analysis on loans on a monthly basis.
g) To monitor loan repayments monthly.
h) To ensure a uniform debt collection strategy in line with the Society’s policies to avoid reputation risk or legal challenges by following strict policies and procedures in place.
i) To manage and execute the Sacco recovery and debt collection efforts.
j) To monitor and rehabilitate delinquent accounts.
k) To coordinate daily executions of debt follow up.
l) To draft and issue appropriate notices to members requiring clearing of loans arrears.
m) To manage issuance of all required statutory notices prior to engaging recovery action.
n) To work closely with debt collection agencies and stakeholders to maximize recoveries.
o) To negotiate and restructure facilities where such action increases chances of recovery of the debt.

IMPACT OF RESULTS
Leads to effective recoveries of any unpaid money that is owed to the SACCO from either businesses (commercial collection) or individuals (consumer collection)

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
a) Diploma in Credit Management
b) CPA – I or Diploma in Co-operative management will be an added advantage
c) Minimum two (2) years relevant work experience in Credit Control
d) Computer Literacy e) Experience in a Sacco/Financial institution will be an added advantage
f) Organizational abilities and time management skills
g) Good interpersonal skills and high level of integrity
h) Demonstrates team work and problem solving ability
i) Good communication skills; both written and verbal
j) Dynamic, energetic individual with good interpersonal skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AS PER CHAPTER SIX OF THE KENYAN CONSTITUTION
You should attach the following certificates:
• Police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct)
• Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
• Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
• Clearance certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
