Accounting Coordinator
Location: This position can be based in any country that Pathfinder operates: United States, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tanzania, Togo, Bangladesh, or Uganda.
Summary: Maintains day-to-day accounts of the office, including preparing vouchers, maintaining books of accounts in the accounting software Serenic, and verifies all Accounts Payable documents submitted to accounting are complete and accurate. administrative support for travel, record keeping, courier service, office supplies, and maintenance of office equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
• Verifies all documents submitted to accounting are complete and accurate.
• Delivers customer service based on accounting policies and procedures and meets or exceeds expectations of entire organization.
• Enters all invoices, general journals, and credit cards expenses into the Serenic Accounting System.
• Ensures payment on invoices in a timely manner
• Reviews of all travel expense reports by Financials Systems according to Pathfinder policy.
• Supports month-end close process, including reconciliation of accounts payable and travel advances.
• Assists the Director of accounting and Controller as needed
Minimum Education and Work Experience:
• Associate Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies.
• 3 years’ experience in accounting for an organization, maintaining computerized accounts, verifying bills, and handling payments.
• Prefer: Previous work experience in an NGO in the health sector.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, standards, guidelines, and practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of accounting systems, data and spreadsheets.
• Foundational knowledge of the audit process, standards and guidelines.
• Passion for Sexual and Reproductive Health: Commitment to family planning, reproductive health services, gender, maternal, child health services, and eradication of harmful traditional practices
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
