Job Description

IFF is very excited to welcome a new “Sales Manager, Food Ingredients & Flavors” to our team, and we hope it’s you!
Basic functions of the role:
• Manage Customer Accounts within the Food Ingredients Industry in South Africa. Commercial, Relationship and Growth responsibility.
• Utilising the full basket of IFF Nourish resources to maintain and grow sales to selected clients.
• Provide high level commercial and technical [indirect] support to customers in relation to the use and application of IFF solutions, both reactively and proactively.
• Liaise with Creation & Design to provide up-to-date ingredient, application and solution knowledge to customers.
• Protect exiting business by solving ad hoc technical issues with IFF solutions with customers.
• Prospect for new opportunities at existing customers & new customers.
• Feed market information to business to support innovation pipeline
• Participate in and run projects, internally and externally
Job Requirements
• Experience in the Sale and Application of Food Ingredients. Preferably on industrial scale with B2B engagement. Minimum 5-yrs experience is preferred.
• In depth knowledge of the Food Ingredient Industry value chain and technical know-how [preferred] relating to food ingredients.
• Appropriate technical and commercial tertiary education is preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships with clients
• Prepared to travel as required – approx 40-90 days per annum [COVID regulation dependant].
• Be open to extensive training on an international scale in the field of sales, business acumen, negotiation skills and technical support
• A team player able to co-ordinate the necessary internal people to support clients
• Conduct business negotiations and product presentations at executive management level
• Good positive attitude and sound relationships in the ZA food ingredient industry.
