Regional Manager (3 Positions)
Our client, a supermarket, seeks to hire Regional managers.
The Regional Manager is accountable for their region, leading and inspiring their teams to achieve the region’s business plan. The Regional Manager ensures full and consistent compliance to all company policies and operational procedures. The Regional Manager reviews and analyze data across the region, developing plans in conjunction with the Branch Managers and Regional Support Team to achieve the region’s business plan, identifying and rectify issues as quickly and effectively as possible. The role holder champions team and individual development across the region while ensuring a culture opportunity for all.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that all Branch Managers and Regional Support Team receive a quarterly and end of year performance review based on their individual performance against their Job Description/ objectives and KPIs.
• Ensuring that the region’s staff absence is monitored, managed and minimized to ensure maximize productivity.
• Labour turnover within the region is minimized by ensuring each store has an action plan to address any issues identified.
• Ensuring that the Branch Managers receives timely communication, that they are informed and engaged with approachable culture of “ask more than tell”.
• Ensuring that the region’s management and staffing levels are maintained for each store and where needed action plans are put in place to rectify issues.
• Ensure that all Branch Managers have a development group in place to promote opportunities and career development, which is reviewed monthly by the Regional Manager with the Branch Manager.
• Ensuring there is a service culture across the region, with a Mystery Shopper Action Plan in place in all stores, addressing any issues highlighted in the last audit.
• Ensure that all stores in the region have their full range on sales by checking and ongoing auditing of store planogram.
• Ensuring all store in the region are maximizing promotional availability and sales by the full and consistent execution of the company promotion plan.
• Ensuring all stores in the region are maximum customer loyalty through the promotion of the Supermarket loyalty Card.
• Ensuring customer across the region can complete their full shopping in one trip by maximizing on shelf availability.
• Ensuring all operational processes are being properly carried out across the region, in line with the Store Operations Manual in all stores in the region.
• Each store in the region is maintaining the company hygiene standards and have Hygiene management action plan is in place to address issues notes in the last audit.
• Each store in the region is carrying out Store Walk every morning and a follow up every afternoon, identifying and resolving issues.
• For all stores in the region fresh food quality is to the standard. That the correct “grading” process and the waste management processes are being implemented in the bakery, Deli, Fish and meat counter.
• Ensuring all stores in the region are maintaining price integrity by implementing the full price integrity process.
• Maximizing sales and achieving the region’s sales budget.
• Achieving the region’s promotional sales targets.
• Controlling the region’s cost lines as a percent of sales and total cash to budget.
• Controlling payroll as a percent to sales and total cash.
• Achieving or exceeding the region’s budgeted profit.
• Controlling Shrinkage to the regional budget

Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills:
• A degree in Business Management or a related field.
• Must have 8 years and above of relevant working experience.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be very organized.
• Must have experience in product mix and selection.
• Well knowledgeable on customer preferences and buying habits.
• Must have had experience managing staff.
• Must be a team player.
