Senior County Legal Counsel, Job Group ‘M’ Two (2) Posts -ADVERT No: CPSB/23/2023

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to Principal County Legal Counsel, a Senior County Legal Counsel shall be;
• Undertaking research on assigned legal issues;
• Collecting and collating research data;
• Analyzing research data and compiling reports;
• Interviewing clients for proper referrals;
• Advising on various legal policy issues;
• Preparing preliminary legal documents/instruments and liaising with the County Attorney;
• Attending Court to represent the County Government in both civil and criminal (watching brief) litigation;
• Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements
• Be a Kenyan Citizen;
• Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree from a recognized University;
• A Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
• Be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid current practicing certificate;
• Three (3) years of relevant post admission working experience;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Shown strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure amidst competing demands.
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;

Mandatory Additional requirements

• Clearance from HELB
• Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Certificate of Good Conduct v) CRB clearance certificate
