JOB DETAILS:
A reputable Government institution seeks to recruit competent officers to fill in vacant positions in its establishment. Applicants must be Kenyan citizens committed to delivering results and ready to work in challenging environments anywhere within the Country. LEGAL OFFICER - GRADE 6 (2 POSITIONS ON CONTRACT TERMS) Reporting to the Principal Legal Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in provision of the Board's cetro services, legal advisory services, coordinating all litigation matters and monitoring compliance with legal and statutory requirements within the organization. .
Key Responsibilities
• Researching and obtaining information on case files and communicating to the external advocates;
• Compiling schedule of legal risks;
• Compiling contract documentation for preparation and related documents.
• External counsel in handling cases filed against the organization and attending court hearings.
• Responding to correspondences and issues arising out of court matters;
• Preparation of contracts;
• Preparation of Board papers;
• Reviewing invoices issued by external lawyers;
• Maintaining and updating ISO documents and records;

Qualifications & Skills required
• A Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution;
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;
• Current practicing certificate;
• Admission as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
• Membership of the Law Society of Kenya;
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
• Personal attributes such as report and minutes writing skills, communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills; and a team player..

• Copies of academic and professional certificates

• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
• Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
• Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
