JOB DETAILS:
Role Objective:
As a critical role on the Farm site, the Farm Clinical Officer is responsible for coordinating all First Aid activities on the Farm and undertaking Occupational Health services by providing advisory services for the staff and community
related education / awareness programs.
First Aid
• To coordinate all first aid activities on the farm and be Chief first aider in the farm.
• To sensitize all worker on the farm on importance of VCT and counselling.
• Carry out health screening of all workers joining the farm and those from sick leave or leave before proceeding to their workplace.
• Administer non- prescriptive (over the counter) drugs as and when necessary.
• Identifying ailments that are self-induced, i.e. drinking and it’s after effects, personal injuries and illnesses sustained outside the work place.
• Updating the general register as per the requirements of OSHA/DOSH, in regard to sickness, injuries and painting of buildings.
• To advise and be keen on identifying and advising managements on disease outbreaks that poses a threat to food contamination.
• To be the referral officer in cases that require advanced treatment to doctors and hospitals.
• In charge of monitoring and report to management progress of employee patients taken to hospitals either in or outpatients.
Health & Safety and Workers Welfare
• To advise management on incidences of occupational diseases, and preventative/control methods and procedures.
• Responsible for all health and safety training on the farm in conjunction with the compliance/Health and safety.
• Assist in the auditing of all health and safety issues.
Training
• In conjunction with guidance from the Group Compliance Manager, liaise with the officials from the Ministry of Health on training programs that might be of importance to farm workers i.e. HIV campaign awareness, hygiene etc.
• To coordinate all First Aid training on the farm Health education trainings-general hygiene practices like washing of hands before handling food, after visiting the toilet, general body hygiene etc.
• Records
• Responsible for completion of data, reports, records related to sickness/ illness on the farm
• Keeping records on all injuries and accidents that occur on the farm by filling the General register
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• As key First Aiders, must be available/contactable where needed
• Ensure all documentation accurately completed
• Timely reporting
• Cholinesterase Testing
• Highlight serious cases to Head Office
Key Competencies:
• Registered Community Nurse (KRCHN) with, ideally, a minimum 2+ years’ experience
• Computer Literate and Proactive

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
