JOB DETAILS:
The overall goal of this position is to formulate community strategies, empowering communities to act for sustainable health improvement in line with the goals and objectives of Amref Health Africa corporate strategy 2018-2022. The Training Associate is responsible for engaging with internal and external stakeholders regionally in facilitation, technical assistance in implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation to ensure implementation of digital health initiatives in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality.
Key responsibilities key Area Activities
• Product Training and Delivery (30%)
• Plan for trainings with internal and external partners.
• Mentoring the Ministry of Health (MOH) staff on mHealth solutions to enhance leadership management and governance.
• Conduct Training of Trainers for mHealth solutions to build their capacity on the health solutions.
• Coordinate training and delivery of electronic and mobile health solutions to enhance product knowledge and adaptation.
• Conduct continuous quality improvement and mentorship system to enhance knowledge retention and transfer.
• Support partners in development of deployment plans for digital health solutions including identification of Key Performance Indicators.
• Facilitate learner review and feedback meetings with partners.
• Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (20%)
• Work closely with the Help Desk Team to ensure prompt customer satisfaction through feedback loops from clients to the technology team.
• Provide continuous and timely feedback on product and services with internal and external stakeholders for future iterations.
• Facilitate digital health solutions progress reports to partners including building their capacity for analysis.
• Support in digital health documentation of lessons learnt to be used in scale up or dissemination in different fora.
• Support partners in conducting operations research.
• Conduct user surveys to measure and ensure high quality standards and continuous quality improvement.
• Measure knowledge retention by administering pre and post-test.
• Support in abstracts and manuscripts development.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports as per clients’ requirements. Partnership and Networking/ Customer Satisfaction (30%)
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders and key service delivery programmes to strengthen partnerships.
• Strengthen working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to exchange best practice stakeholder engagement initiatives through communities of practice.
• Support the collection, analysis, and utilization of data and feedback to identify market opportunities for Amref Health Innovations.
• Collaborate with customers and end usersin project implementation to ensure loyalty and customer satisfaction.
• Proactively support conflict management among internal and external stakeholders.
• Advocate for Amref Health Africa’s Digital Health agenda in regional, national and county policy formulation and review stakeholder engagements. Programme Development (10%)
• Provide insights, contributions, and partnerships in the administrative and operational functions of Amref Health Innovations to improve on processes, i.e payment of participants, service providers, etc.
• Contribute to Amref Health Innovations’ market opportunities that enables decision making for expansion.
• Support in proposals and concept notes development.
• Support social media marketing in liaison with relevant teams.
• Market Amref Health Innovations products and services in regional and national fora. Administrative and Resource Management (10%)
• Plan and organize activities that ensures cost effectiveness of resources and finances utilization.
• Develop budgets and ensure implemented activities are within the budgets.
• Mentor and supervise staff.
• Orient interns, new staff and partners on office regulations and organizations policies.
• Provide technical advice to support partners develop procurement plans.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Public Health, Community Health or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Masters in the same required fields would be an added advantage. Experience
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in community development initiatives, training facilitation and implementation of community health strategy. Skills and Competencies
• Proven management, networking and team building skills.
• Experience in project planning and implementation for inclusion projects.
• Experience working in a start-up accelerator.
• Experience working in an organization serving persons with disabilities.
• Understanding of assistive technology, inclusion, and accessibility principles.
• Must have proven ability to self-manage, initiate activities related to the role and be able to implement and execute plans based on agreed work plans.
• Budgeting and basic financial skills are an added advantage.
• Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to identify, coordinate and produce concise reports, presentations, briefs or correspondence in a project setting for decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a diverse stakeholder group including management, external and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in the preparation of project plans, agendas, minutes, reports, briefs, meeting documentation and presentations.
• Computer literate – Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
• Training skills are most desirable. Languages
• Good spoken and written English with Swahili as an advantage
