Principal Consultant - Health Systems Financing (Re-advertisement)

Responsibilities: 

The Principal Consultant - Health Systems Financing will provide technical support on health financing and systems strengthening across Options’ portfolio of programmes in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). 

You will be able to appreciate the complexities of and dynamic interactions within health systems including the political context in which they function. Through a combination of backstopping support to programme teams and direct technical delivery, you will support the design, implementation and monitoring of health financing approaches to support achievement of universal health coverage.

Person specification: 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • An MSc in public health, health financing, health economics or relevant field
  • A health systems specialist with significant experience of delivering technical work on health financing across Africa and/or Asia
  • Good understanding of public financial management and its role in strengthening health service delivery in developing countries
  • Substantial experience of providing remote and in-person technical assistance to counterparts, across a range of overseas programmes
  • Substantial experience of leading technical design of programmes, including the development of theories of changes and results frameworks

 

Principal Consultant, Health Systems Strengthening and Resilience (Re-advertisement)

Responsibilities: 

The Principal Consultant, Health Systems Strengthening and Resilience will provide technical support to contribute to high-performing, adaptable and resilient health systems across Options’ portfolio of programmes in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The post-holder will be able to appreciate the complexities of and dynamic interactions within health systems including the political context in which they function. They will also have significant experience in working with national governments and other local stakeholders to plan for shocks, such as infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) or the effects of climate change, as well as to minimise the negative consequences of such disruptions. They will contribute actively to the growth and development of the organisation by leading the technical design of new programmes and contributing to generation of new business opportunities, including through proactive client engagement.

Person specification: 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A master’s degree in public health, medicine, international health or related field
  • A health systems specialist with significant experience of strengthening health systems resilience across Africa and/or Asia
  • Substantial experience of providing remote and in-person technical assistance to counterparts, across a range of overseas programmes
  • Substantial experience of leading technical design of programmes, including the development of theories of changes and results frameworks

 

Health Systems Strengthening Advisor (Re-advertisement)

Responsibilities: 

Based in Lilongwe Malawi, The Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Advisor will work closely with the Country Lead to embed sustainability mechanisms for stronger country health systems. They will be responsible for implementation of Health Systems Strengthening component in close liaison with the country technical team. He/she will oversee the implementation of HSS activities, working closely with Ministry of Health (MOH) and other counterparts to ensure that Family Planning/Sexual Reproductive Health is part of the HSS agenda.

Person specification: 

To succeed in this role, the candidate will have:

  • Masters in public health or related discipline
  • Significant and proven experience working in Health Systems Strengthening programmes
  • Extensive experience of the development and implementation of programmes within the health sector
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and programme control
  • Proven experience in risk management
  • Proven experience in change management
  • Experience of developing and maintaining close working relationships with clients, partners and consortia
  • Experience of networking to build successful relationships with MoH at national and district level, potential clients, collaborators and consultants
