Finance/Accounts Officer

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: commerce (accounting or finance option), business administration (accounting option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • At least CPA II or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
  • Certificate in computer proficiency from a recognized institution;
  • Fulfills the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Assisting in the preparation of cheques and posting payments and receipts;
  • Contacting clients about invoices and handling queries relating to accounts;
  • Supporting the verification of payments and receipt vouchers and committal documents;
  • Assisting in the movement and safe custody of cash;
  • Supporting data capture, filing and maintaining ledgers;
  • Maintaining financial records;
  • Assisting in the preparation of budget estimates, accounts and management reports;
  • Supporting audits and reconciliation

ICT Officer

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in any of the following disciplines: computer science, information technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and,
  • Fulfills the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Assisting in carrying out ICT systems analysis and design to suit the Authority’s needs;
  • Assisting in the customization and testing of ICT programs;
  • Assisting in the development and updating of ICT application systems;
  • Training users on ICT applications;
  • Installation of ICT equipment and peripherals as appropriate;
  • Assisting in the harmonization of equipment in the ICT system; and
  • Detecting faults in ICT equipment/systems; and rectifying as appropriate.

Senior Assistant Officer, Market Conduct & Industry Development

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in any of the following: accounting, human resource management, marketing, communication, public relations or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
  • At least four (4) years’ relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and,
  • Fulfils the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Assisting in the handling of customer inquiries, complaints and disputes arising from scheme members and other stakeholders;
  • Providing feedback on complaints and disputes to scheme members and other stakeholders;
  • Participate in reviewing of statutory returns on governance compliance by schemes and service providers and compiling reports;
  • Participating in the development of guidelines for the protection of interests of members and sponsors in the retirement benefits industry;
  • Assist in liaising with Huduma Centre staff to collect and receive complaints from the various towns/regions;
  • Liaising with the corporate communications department on enquiries to ensure they are followed up, resolved and reported;
  • Assisting in collating information on consumer protection, governance and stakeholder education programs to be availed on the Authority’s website, media reports and other information portals;
  • Compiling information for the stakeholder education forums and handling the arrangements and logistics at the training sessions;
  • Keeping records of consumer protection, governance and stakeholder education programs; and,
  • Assisting in writing reports on the consumer protection, governance and stakeholder education activities.

Drivers Grade - 2 Positions

Job Requirements

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade ‘D’ + or its equivalent;
  • Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement;
  • Certificate of Occupational Trade Test Grade III for drivers;
  • A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service;
  • First-Aid certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology or any other recognized institution;
  • Certificate of suitability trade test for drivers from the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing & Urban Development;
  • Proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution; and
  • Fulfil the provisions of Chapter 6 of the Constitution;

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Carrying out routine checks on the assigned vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems and tire pressure;
  • Detecting and reporting the assigned vehicle’s defects on time and ensuring its cleanliness;
  • Driving the assigned vehicle as authorized;
  • Ensuring security and safety of the assigned vehicle on and off the road, as well as the passengers and goods therein;
  • Maintaining a daily work ticket;
  • Ensuring routine service and maintenance of the assigned vehicle;
  • Timely reporting of accidents and follow up of police abstract; and
  • Ensuring timely inspection and keeping up-to-date insurance documents for the assigned vehicle.

Records Management Assistant

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: records and archives management, records and information technology, records and information science or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • A certificate in Computer Applications;
  • Fulfill the provisions of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

OR

  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience;
  • KCSE D+ or equivalent Relevant Professional Certificate;
  • Poficiency in computer application; and
  • Fulfil the requirements of chapter 6 of the Constitution

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Assisting in implementing guidelines on records management and documentation services for the Authority;
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Government regulations and statutory requirements on records management;
  • Assisting in the classification, storage, indexing and retrieval of records;
  • Participating in appraisal of non-current records for archival or disposal;
  • Ensuring security, proper handling, integrity and confidentiality of records;
  • Assisting in reviewing the Standard Operating Procedures and their conformance to identified areas of improvement that can bring efficiencies in the Section;
  • Assisting in implementing ISO audit recommendations; and

Legal Officer

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws degree;
  • Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
  • Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  • Current Practicing Certificate from the High Court of Kenya;
  • Membership to the Law Society of Kenya in good standing;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and.
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Supporting the reviewing of legislation and assisting in legal drafting;
  • Assisting in the negotiation of contracts, leases, formal agreements and other legal instruments;
  • Supporting the arbitration and settlement of disputes;
  • Monitoring progress and recording information on pending and completed prosecutions and any enforcement actions;
  • Carrying out field investigations to collect evidence and determine the extent of violations of the Retirement Benefits Act;
  • Compiling data and information to support the amendment of retirement benefits legislation and statutory instruments;
  • Assisting in the filing and prosecution of criminal cases when the violations warrant more severe action;
  • Maintaining a record of all cases handled by external lawyers on behalf of the Authority;
  • Assisting in the issue of briefs to external lawyers as approved; and
  • Compiling reports of cases handled by external lawyers.

Corporate Communications Officer 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; communication, public relations or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

  • Fulfil the requirements of chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  • Handling customer queries and providing necessary assistance in consultation with the relevant Departments.
  • Reviewing draft press/media releases and proactive responses to inquiries through the approved channels.
  • Participate in planning outreach activities and media related meetings;
  • Implementing design concepts for promotional materials that includes posters, cards, calendars, diaries, t-shirts, amongst other.
  • Participate in editing RBA’s newsletters, brochures, handbooks, and manuals.
  • Liaising with ICT Department to update the Authority’s website in consultation with technical team members; and
  • Assisting in the review and implementation of the department’s Service Charter, monitoring and reporting on progress.
  • Participate in creating and managing content on social media platforms, reviewing customer queries and providing guidance in consultation with the Senior Officer/Manager.
