Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk, monitoring, determining, and troubleshooting web, email, and other Internet applications problems
• Design and implement IT security systems to protect the organization's computer networks from cyber attacks
• Install and upgrade security systems and measures to enable security within company
• Assist to develop organization-wide best practices for IT security
• Support audit plans and the audit process as facilitated by our contracted third-party partners (external auditors).
• Monitor computer networks for security issues, install security software and document all security issues or breaches
• Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority
• Walk team members through troubleshooting and problem-solving processes.
• Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation
• Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software JIRA
• Document internal procedures
• Assist in onboarding users and maintenance by providing each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment
• Relocate IT equipment and/or move workstations and maintain the peripherals, such as printers, that are connected to the network.
• Identify areas of operation that need upgraded equipment such as Computer, Drop Cables (UTP), fiber optic cables, Hub, Switch, etc.
• Install the software, configure and repair IT systems and workstations.
• Train users in the use of equipment, hardware, or software, including printing, installation, word processing, and email.
• Gather feedback from end-users to continue to improve systems
• Analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT security requirements
• Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses
• Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support and follow up with users, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
• Produce reports on help desk activity as appropriate to support Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Support annual IT audit in line with the requirements specified within the ISO 27001:2013 standards

Qualifications
• degree in computer science, programming, or a related field, or;
• At least 2 years of experience configuring, deploying, and supporting client systems in a highly managed environment.
• Have experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux OS support,
• Experience with Windows Server 2012, Active Directory, Office 365, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and basic networking (DCHP, vLANs, and Wireless Network Configuration).
• Experience with virtual desktop delivery platforms, such as VMWare View, as well as Linux-based research applications beneficial but not required.
• A strong background in hardware and software troubleshooting
• Experience in process automation (Ansible)
• Working knowledge of automated monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds & Zabbix)
• Experience with configuring and management of Security Incident and Event Management tools such as Alien Vault, OSSEC, or Snort IDS.
• Knowledge of security testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
