Intern- Intergovernmental Affairs and Meetings Support, I
Interns work five days per week (35-40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned. Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation of procedural scripts for meetings, drafting official communication to Member States and undertake other preparatory tasks.¿
• Attend meetings and prepare written summaries of discussions;¿
• Assist with logistics during meetings, including interactive presentations, slide presentations, and virtual platforms;
• Contribute to the preparation of various procedural documents, such as meeting agendas, talking points, as well as other papers and briefing materials;
• Conduct research on intergovernmental procedure and practice of the Environment Assembly and its subsidiary organs; and
• Support the day-to-day management of internal databases;
• Other tasks, as requested.

Education
• A first-level degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in environmental issues, law, jurisprudence, procedure, philosophy, political science or international relation or related fields is required.
Work Experience
• No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
