JOB DETAILS:
The Academic Model Providing Access to Health Care (AMPATH) is a project under the auspices of Moi University School of Medicine, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) and Consortium of North American Universities whose aim is to provide sustainable efforts in access to healthcare and to conduct Research and Training. AMPATH also supports the Ministry of Health in ten (10) Counties of Western Kenya, Nyanza and North Rift Region
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the following vacant position under AMPATH Research and Sponsored Project Office (RSPO) MAIN to be based at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) - AMPATH

POSITION: Finance Manager (1 POSITION)
GRADE: RS 14
Reporting to the Executive Directors, the successful candidate will perform duties which include but not limited to the following:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the preparation of Business plans, budgets and rolling forecast.
• Monitor financial details to ensure compliance
• Supervise finance and accounting staff. Oversee banking & treasury management, creating and maintaining a good internal control environment.
• Analyze and track variance, efficacies utilization, and risk/opportunities to the management in an appropriate format and timely manner
• Manage and report on the cost Centre performance for the program
• Producing financial report related to budget account payables account receivables, expenses etc.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures to deliver integrity of cost income, forecasts and budgets and complete all technical accounting tasks in line with major donor regulations especially US Government donors.
• Review and undertake sub-recipient monitoring,
• Be the focal point during internal and external audits and follow up on the audit recommendations
• Approve on ERP supplier bills and obligations. Sit in the AMPATH Board Subcommittees as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a Master's degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution.
• Must have Bachelor's degree in a Business related course (Finance or Accounting option from a recognized institution . Must be certified public Accountants (K) and registered with the Institute of Certified Public Account
• Tants of Kenya (ICPAK) or its equivalent.
• Must have served for at least seven (7) years with relevant experience with at least five 5 years managerial experience in a door-funded organization.
• Must have attended senior Management course from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and financial Management software.
• Fulfil the requirement of chapter Six 6 of the constitution of Republic of Kenya 2010
