Driver I - 49 Posts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six (6) years cumulative experience three (3) years of which should have been at the grade of Driver II or comparable position in the public or private sector;
  • KCSE mean grade D (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent;
  • Valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s);
  • Passed Occupational Trade Test II for Drivers;
  • Defensive Driving Certificate from recognized institution;
  • Refresher Driving course lasting not less than one week from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate of Good Conduct (renewable after one (1) year);
  • Refresher course in First Aid lasting not less than one (1) week 
  • Certificate in computer applications;
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

  • Good Interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Driving the Authority vehicle as authorized;
  • Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
  • Recognizing and reporting mechanical defaults of the vehicles;
  • ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
  • Monitoring and reporting expiry of insurance policies for motor vehicles;
  • Overseeing transport management;
  • Preparing and submitting reports on transport when need arises; and
  • Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods therein.
