Director of Cooperative Audit and Risk Management

Requirements for Appointment
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Sociology,
• Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Co-operative Management,
• Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development, Finance or
• Agribusiness from a university recognized in Kenya;
• Masters’ Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage;
• A minimum of Seven (7) years’ relevant experience, Three (3) years of which must have
• been in a senior management level in an institution either in public or private sector
• Member of Relevant Professional Organization.
• Having undergone management and leadership course of not less than four weeks from a
• recognized institution will be an added advantage;
• Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide technical advice to the Department on Cooperative matters.
• Advise county on Cooperative investments
• Participate in policy formulation
• Enforcing compliance with Cooperative legislation
• Design, coordinate and monitor the implementation of Cooperative activities, programs and policies
• Carry out market research and disseminate research findings
• Promote value addition and processing
• Conduct Cooperative banking inspection
• Undertake risk assessment
• Develop new financial products and credit policies
