JOB DETAILS:
Pursuant to the provisions Section 44 and 45 of the County Government Act No 17 of 2012 The County Public Service Board would like to invite applications from highly qualified results oriented and motivated Kenyan citizens for appointment to the following position:

Terms of service (contract)
The position will be one for each of the following portfolio.
County Chief Officer - Education, Science, Culture, ICT and Arts

The Chief Officer shall be the accounting and authorized officer in respect to the exercise of delegated powers and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Committee Member.

Duties and Responsibilities
a) The administration of a county department.
b) Implementation of policies and development plans.
c) Development and implementation of strategic plans.
d) Formulate and implement effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals.
e) Promote national values and principles of governance and values and principles of public service

Requirements and Competencies.
1. Be a Kenyan citizen.
2 Must be a holder of at least a degree from a University recognized in Kenya in the relevant portfolio.
3. Master’s degree in a relevant recognized field will be an added advantage.
4. Have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than ten years in the specific portfolio applied for. five of which must be at senior level either at government or private sector.
5. Must be a member of a professional body where applicable and in good standing.
6 Demonstrate a thorough understanding of devolution, county development objectives and vision 2030.
7 Be conversant with policy formulation and implementation.
8. Satisfy and attach all requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. 2010.
