JOB DETAILS:
Assistant Librarian

The position
The Assistant Librarian is responsible for providing support, assisting with the administration and organization of resources to ensure smooth running of the library.

Duty & Responsibilities
• Assist library users to easily access information resources (print and non-print materials) and ethically use the information.
• Organizing the library collection via shelving, etc, for maximum and effective use
• Process acquired library and bookstore resources via cataloguing and classification
• Organize and reshelve returned books and other resources
• Assist the Librarian in overseeing the use of all library materials and equipment.
• Assist with departmental administrative tasks including filing and photocopying.
• Participate in creating interesting and relevant displays to draw library users.
• Undertake routine (daily) library procedures.
• Provide clerical support as required by Librarian.

Qualifications
• At least a diploma in Library/Information Science or a related course
• Proficient in Microsoft office and other data management applications
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• The ability to collaborate and work constructively as part of a team
