Animal Health Assistants Grade, KIP 12
VACANCY No. KIP/AHA12/2025:
For appointment to this grade, a Candidate Must have:
- K.C.S.E certificate or equivalent from a recognized Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Fulfill the requirement of Chapter Six of the constitution.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Performing daily husbandry (watering, feeding etc), care, restraint and observation of laboratory animals in routine and experimental programs, under supervision of a senior officer;
- Providing limited technical assistance in the clinical care of laboratory animals and collection of routine clinical and experimental data, under supervision of a senior officer;
- Assisting in ensuring animal housing standards remain responsive to needs of the animals;
- Assisting in maintaining and reporting the welfare of laboratory animals as per national and international standards;
- Ensuring general cleanliness of the animal houses/cages and surrounding environment;
- Ensuring proper disposal of animal waste as per the waste management and disposal guideline;
- In collaboration with research scientists support the field research station operations, logistical coordination of the implementation of field project activities at the site.
